Project summary

Edit project overview to modify the project summary.

Restoration measures implemented along a 2000m section included profile regrading, introduction of large woody debris, removal of invasive species, placement of gravels, cutting trees back, re-connection to adjacent floodplain, creation of wetlands and narrowing of the channel to reintroduce sinuousity.

Monitoring

Reasons for river restoration

Mitigation of a pressure Invasive species
Hydromorphology Flow velocities, Substrate conditions, Channel pattern/planform, Continuity for organisms
Biology Fish: Species composition, Fish: Abundance, Invertebrates
Physico-chemical
Other reasons for the project Recreation, Habitat enhancement

Measures

Structural measures
Bank/bed modifications Regrading, Removal of invasive species, Cut back of trees, Depth variation, Introducing large woody debris, Introduction of gravel
Floodplain / River corridor Connection to wider floodplain, Creation of wetland
Planform / Channel pattern Channel narrowing, Adding sinuosity
Other
Non-structural measures
Management interventions Management of organic and inorganic sediments
Social measures (incl. engagement) Improved public access
