Project summary
This is a river and floodplain project inckuding 15ha of floodplain and 2km's of main river. Reaches of the River Frome have been improved through removing raised embankments and hard stone bank protection. This allows for natural river processes to occur and reconnects the river and floodplain during high flow events.
Existign floodplain ditches have been reprofiled improving their habitat value while others have been created in a network including new scrapes.
Over 22,000 trees were planted in the project area as part of the wider project utilising Forestr Comission funds through the English Woodland Grant Scheme.
