Project summary

This project concentrated on a stretch of the the River Guash between Tolethorpe and Ryhall Rutland. Issues with the stretch included slow velocities, partially blocked channels and a lack of light. To address these problems, fallen trees were removed, the channel was narrowed and the tree canopy opened up.

Following the implementations, the river seems more biologically active with greater fish populations. The flow of the channel is also greatly improved and the issues of slow velocities and silting-up of the channel are no longer present.
