Help:User guide/Creating a case study
To enter a new case study on the wiki, use the create case study form. This can be accessed from links on the main page and country pages, or directly here: Click here to create a new case study.
You must be logged in and have confirmed your email address to be able to create or edit case studies.
Only a minimal amount of basic information is required to initially create a case study. After creating it, you can continue to fill it out with more detailed information; see Help:User guide/Editing a case study for further information.
Before entering any case studies please read the contributor rules.
Location
First select a location for the case study on the map. A point location needs to be selected, so if the case study covers a wide area, you might choose to specify a location roughly in the centre of the area.
It might take some time before your case study becomes visible as a marker on the map of the main page. If it looks good on the case study page, it will probably work out fine on the main page automatically, after the database is refreshed. You don't have to take any action for this.
Additional geographic information for the case study can be uploaded later; see Help:User guide/Editing a case study#Providing additional geographic information.
Project overview
You will need to specify a title for the case study. This must be unique as it will be used as the primary means of identifying the case study in the wiki.
The country that the project was in and the name of a contact for the project must also be entered. For projects that cross international borders, multiple countries can be selected by holding down CTRL whilst clicking in the country list.
When the required data has been entered, click Save page to create the case study.
Importing case studies
Administrators can also create case studies by importing them in bulk from a spreadsheet. See Help:Case study import for details.
