The National Environmental Protection Agency has been intended to work in order to ensure a healthy environment, in line with Romania’s economical development and its social progress. Our mission consists in a ensuring a better environment for the present and future generations, through a continuous enhancement of air, soil and water quality.


Research

Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development, Tulcea, Romania

The institute carries out basic and applied research to scientifically support the management in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and other wetlands of national and international importance for the biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. One of the main fields of activity is restoration and rehabilitation of the ecosystems that have been injured by the negative human activity.


National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management

Advanced researches regarding the following issues: influence of the climatic changes upon the hydrological cycle; occurrence and propagations of flash floods on water courses; water resources management during droughts periods; eco-technique of water courses; displacement of pollution waves; determination of flood vulnerability and afferent risks.
