Beekherstel werkzaamheden zijn begonnen om de ecologische waarden in het gebied te verbeteren zodat deze voldoen aan de KRW-standaarden en om de beek te verbinden met de ecologische hoofstructuur van de vallei. Alle doelen van het grootschalig beekherstel in dit gebied zijn: - Stroming - Dynamiek: winter-zomer afvoer - Begroeiing, variatie oevers, bodem - Opheffen barrières vissen - Verbeteren waterkwaliteit - Klimaat-robuust

Als onderdeel van dit grootschalig beekherstel is ook Bouwen met Natuur (BmN) toegepast. Een bijzonder voorbeeld hier van is het stroombaanmaaien om de watergang van de beek te verbeteren.
