This project aims to ease a barrier to migratory fish to allow access to over 10km of habitat. A feasibility and options report led to the selection of removal as a preferred option. This is being progressed to design at present. There are significant volumes of sediment that have accumulated behind the weir so this project will have a strong element of hydromorphological restoration, as well as improving fish passage.
