This page provides help information for users whose role is to review and approve case studies.
The Reviewers group
In order to review case studies, your user account must first be assigned to the Reviewers group. This must be done by a user with administrative privileges. If you're not in this group, then when you attempt to approve a case study, you'll see a message stating that the function is only available to reviewers, and the controls in the approval form will be disabled.
Your contact details
Case study creators will want to be able to contact you to let you know when their case study is ready for review. To allow them to do this, your user ID should be listed in the contacts section of the appropriate RESTORE region page:
Your details will need to be added to the region page by a user with administrative privileges. Use the RESTORE contacts page to contact an administrator if your details aren't listed correctly.
Approving a case study
To approve a draft case study, click the Approve case study link at the top right of the case study page. (If this link isn't there, then the case study is already approved.)
The Case study approval form will be displayed. Change the status from Draft to Approved in the drop-down list, and click Save page.
The main reason for the approval system is that if users (non-RESTORE partners) are uploading projects, moderators can check if the level of quality is sufficient. The instructions provided for QAQC should be used for this. For case studies that we have uploaded ourselves we can use the approval system to keep track of which case studies are finished and which ones still need work. After a case study is approved, it is still possible to make changes. Should any other user make any changes, you will be notified about that automatically because the project is s added to your watchlist when you edited its approval status.
Getting a list of unapproved case studies
Each of the country pages contains a link to a list of unapproved, draft case studies in that country.
The advanced case study query form allows you to search for draft case studies in combination with other criteria. To query for draft case studies, open the Project Overview section and select Draft in the Case study approval status field.
The following link will open the advanced query form with a status of Draft already selected: Search for draft case studies
Unapproving a case study
Once a case study has been approved, its Approve case study link will disappear.
If a case study has been approved in error, and needs to be unapproved, then use the Form:Case study status page. Enter the title of the case study and click the button to edit the approval status of the case study.
